In the context of forgiveness of sin, according to Paul only Christ can mediate that as our High Priest:I already knew all that and it was in no way a response to what I said. What was the point of posting any of that?
Do you know what a mediator is? Can you provide a definition like you might find in a dictionary? I promise, this has a point.
For it is declared:
“You are a priest forever,
in the order of Melchizedek (Hebrews 7:17 quoting from Psalm 110:4)
Melchizedek was a priest whom no ancestry was listed:
"Without father or mother, without genealogy, without beginning of days or end of life, resembling the Son of God, he remains a priest forever. " (Heb. 7:3)
Jesus’ priesthood rests on his eternal indestructable life:
“on the basis of the power of an indestructible life” (Heb 10:16)
This is the new order of priesthood established by God. One only needs Christ to be saved.
