During confession today I remembered 2 sins that I forgot to confess when the priest was giving me absolution, I didn’t want to interrupt the priest during this. I received communion today thinking that I could just confess these 2 sins during my next confession. Was I correct in thinking this or did I go about this the wrong way? Thanks.

According to fisheaters.com/penance.html :
One of the keys to confession is the desire to be rid of all of one’s sins. If this is your will, if this is your desire, if you are willing to confess all of your sins and do your penance and resolve to sin no more, then your sins will be forgiven – all of them, **even those you may have truly forgotten about. **
Don’t panic if you later recall sins you forgot to confess: remember that if you were willing to confess them but simply forgot, they are forgiven if you will to confess them the next time you go.
(emphasis mine)

I think you are alright, as long as you weren’t purposefully concealing your sins. Just remember to confess them next time 🙂

Hopefully someone else can come along with more information for you!

(edited to add another quote from Fisheaters)
