Reminder to moms/dads regarding laundry

My laundry nemesis is probably undetected kleenex in pockets.

Man oh man a single kleenex goes a long ways when put in a washer!
I’ve forgotten to check for kleenex at times in my laundry. Now I try to remember to check those deep pockets before putting things in the washer.

My husband has a card reader so he can log into government accounts both at work and home for work that he’s had to replace more times than I can count. My kids do ok with most things but my husband is notorious for messing up laundry. I’ve threatened to make him wash by hand like he did growing up.
Oh, dear… :o

I guess us husbands really do need to shape up. 🙂

Back when we were first married, DH did me the favor of doing some laundry. Unfortunately, he put brand new red fleece pajamas in the same load as a handmade baby quilt! After several washes we were able to get most of the pink out of the quilt, but you can still see it if you look closely.

Now DH is in charge of all of the laundry and has taught our 7 yr old son how to do most of the laundry by himself!

Tell me about it. I have a bunch of pink undershirts as a result of a similar mishap. 😃

Yay!

A great thing about the internet is the availability of information on doing appliance repairs. It’s saved me a lot of money troubleshooting and fixing my machine on several occasions.
If it weren’t for the internet, I wouldn’t have known that a garbage disposal has a little red reset button on the bottom. With a 20 year old garbage disposal, thinking the disposal had gone toes-up instead of kicking off because it ran too long in a row and got hot could have been a very costly mistake!!!

I also learned how to replace the batteries on a smart key. Easy peasey, and the battery is just a CR 2032, but there are car dealers who will charge and little pinky to do it for you!

I’ve gotten a little compulsive about washing separately (or in strict color categories) all new clothing items, because of an incident some years ago when I got a huge lot of new kid clothes at the GAP outlet store and wrecked most of them in the first washing.

On the bright side, I’ve never done that again.
The first washing is the most dangerous, by far.

DH says I’ve laundered the money in his pockets (both in and out of his wallet) so many times that I could teach drug lords how to do it.

Lol…you are allowed to keep anything in the pockets you find while doing laundry, especially money.

I think it’s in the bible, has to do with reaping and sewing. 😉

Tissues that get washed fall right under ink I’d think. :o Forever picking out all the little ground up paper wads out of the nice clean clothes.

This is where my OCD is actually useful. I cannot remember ever washing anything in my clothes pockets by accident. I always check my pockets before throwing stuff in the washer. The only exception I can think of is I think one time I washed some small used foam ear plugs that were in my construction vest. But of course it is only my stuff that I am washing. Lets see how it goes if I ever get married and have kids one day.
