Reommendations for Recordings of The Mass of the Angels?

Hi,

My sister was telling me about a beautiful Gregorian Chant Mass called The Mass of the Angels that she remembered from when we were young. I tried to find a recording online, but I was confused by what the searches resulted. I’m not entirely clear on if this is one specific work, or several works fall under this category.

Can anyone enlighten me and recommend a good recording?

The above link offers a CD for sale. The one sample you can hear on-line is not from the Mass of the Angels.

Click here and scroll down to VIII (De Angelis), and you can hear the Mass on-line.
 
Okay, I think I am understanding this now. Please tell me if I have it right:

There are 18 Chant masses, each one used for a different type of Mass. Number 8 is the Mass of the Angels.

Is that right?

And then, to follow up, I take it that the Mass of the Angels is used for a funeral Mass (requiem)?

Sunday Mass, 1963. Too bad they didn’t record the Pater Noster. The CONGREGATION sang this as plainsong rather than formal chant. Works for me!

Mass XVIII is the one to be used at a funeral/Requiem Mass.
