In the first scripture reading for today from Daniel…

*Daniel 9: “Lord, great and awesome God, you who keep your merciful covenant toward those who love you and observe your commandments! We have sinned, been wicked and done evil; **we have rebelled and departed from your commandments and your laws. We have not obeyed your servants the prophets, who spoke in your name to our kings, our princes, *our fathers, and all the people of the land. Justice, O Lord, is on your side; we are shamefaced even to this day: we, the men of Judah, the residents of Jerusalem, and all Israel, near and far, in all the countries to which you have scattered them because of their treachery toward you. O LORD, we are shamefaced, like our kings, our princes, and our fathers, for having sinned against you. But yours, O Lord, our God, are compassion and forgiveness! Yet we rebelled against you and paid no heed to your command, O LORD, our God, to live by the law you gave us through your servants the prophets.”

I couldn’t help think about America today. We have been SO blessed by God and yet we turn our back on him. We have sinned been wicked and done evil. During this time of Lent, help us to pray for our nation. To end the largest and cruelest holocaust in all of history, the murder of millions of the most innocent. Help us to repent. It makes me realize how truly merciful and patient out wonderful God is. Help us to be shamefaced. Please join me in a time of repentance for our nation.

We do need to pray for our country and not just for our country but for the whole world. One suggestion is to pray for justice. I believe the slogan for the Campaign for Human Development was (and perhaps still is) “If you want peace, work for justice.”

No! Don’t pray for God’s Justice. Pray for God’s MERCY MERCY MERCY. We don’t ever want God’s Justice. Not for ourselves and not for our enemies.

A poem/song I wrote a few years ago:

God Heal America

*(to the music of **Irving Berlin’s *‘God Bless America’)

God heal America. Land that I love.
Reach inside her, and heal her
From great sin, with the life from above,
From the sinning, to now caring,
For all peoples, as they roam
God heal America, My home sweet home.
God heal America, My home sweet home.

God heal America. People I love.
Stand with them, and guide them
To the truth with the truth from above.
Not Aborting, but protecting
all the children in the womb.
God heal America, My home sweet home.
God heal America. My home sweet home.

God heal America. Home that I love.
Reach inside her, and heal her
From the blight with the light from above,
From a selfish, culture of death
To a lifestyle, based on love,
God heal America, My home sweet home.
God heal America, My home sweet home.

B-U-TEE-FULL !!!

I still don’t understand why you feel the need to have everyone beleive what you beleive. It has got to be a headache of epic proportions, for one thing.

You are right, it is B-U-TEE-FUL…And to a tune we all know, even as a Canadian. I am still a fan of Lee Greenwood…my favorite artist that sings this song. Funny thing is, it would not be hard to sing it your way…a way full of Gods light and Mercy.

We do not have enough Morally sound music in the social atmosphere. Yours would be a wonderful addition.

God bless your thoughtful heart!
