Does a desire to be forgiven count as repentance (enough to obtain forgiveness in Confession)? Please no CCC quotes, just a yes or no…

Its a leading question and not specific enough for a simple yes or no. A person might want to be forgiven but they also might not have any intent to try not to sin again.

To be forgiven you must make a genuinely sincere Confession (confessing all the mortal sins you can remember) being sorry for your sins and with the firm intent to do your best not to sin again.

Sorry. I had presupposed that all things were present except possibly repentance (pending answer).
 
Yes. In confession the desire to be forgiven is enough. That desire may be true contrition, which is best or mere fear of punishment. If it gets you to the confessional it’s good enough for the time being. Of course, we should want always desire to be contrite and come to repentance through love of God, not just because we are afraid of having to pay for our sins. 🙂
