In the US, the same freedom of Religion that we Catholics pray for, that we enjoy thanks to the Constitution, also guarantees freedom those who have the religion of forms of Satanism. The same freedom to publish Christian books applies to Satanists.

This sounds like a satirical book for adults, not something actually for children.
The first time dinner didn’t turn into cookies, the kid would lose interest.

It’s like that book Go the F to Sleep. No one would actually read it to their child.

It has the grave expletive “F***” in it.
Expletives are pretty common already.
Unfortunately, they, indeed, are common—too common, but that doesn’t make them acceptable. This is one of those times when we need to turn our backs toward such products. If we, as Catholics, treat such as these as being fine and dandy, who is left to raise the standard of acceptable humor? I don’t know who first said it, but to the tips of my toes, I believe that “As the Catholic Church goes, so goes the world.” On a personal level: “As we go, so go those around us.” We CAN change our immediate worlds, if not the larger world in which we live, and we can do it gently, without making a scene, but by making an impression. 😇 May God guide us all when we encounter little secular uglies, so that we’re a positive example. 😀

The morality of That Word is off topic for the thread. We have plenty of past threads discussing 4 letter words or you could start a new one.

Getting back on topic, the point is, there are questionable parody “children’s books” out there, but they aren’t being marketed to children or bought for children. They are for adults. This demon book is for adults. That doesn’t make it okay, but children are generally not being taught to call up demons with this parody book.

What has happened here is mainly the manufacturers are rubbing their hands in glee because their book is now going to be a bestseller. It’s a tough one because you don’t want to normalise summoning Demons, but equally there was a similar storm in a teacup about Harry Potter books.

For those aligned with the secular world . . . well, one day they’ll realize that they, too, have souls that will go somewhere when they die. ANY books or items or conversation or jokes that might lead others astray will be in their minus columns when they croak. In a nutshell, they’ll be responsible for damage to their own souls, but, worse, they’ll be responsible for damage to the souls of others.

But, what if they’re ALSO responsible for leading astray little children or even older children—innocents, all, in the eyes of Jesus? Woe be to them. WOE be to them!

Double entendres pass over the understanding level of children. One way in which teachers are made aware of the differences in both innate intelligence levels and maturity is the ability of a child to see humor in situations or conversations that are missed by most of his peers. (Remember Johnny Carson looking to the side while air-swiping his hand over the top of his head, rolling his eyes, and twitching his lips? 😂) Explicit words, stories, and pictures are visuals or, perhaps worse, create visuals that once seen, even if only mentally, and momentarily, cannot be erased from the mind’s eye.

Let’s each consider placing Hell on the left side and Heaven on the right side of a long, mainly horizontal line, but with some curves, some dead-end detours and valleys, molehills, and mountains (maybe even some ponds in which we might flail or drown)—all representing our life story. Think about that. Why step off the Road to Heaven for such a, ahem, pedestrian reason? 😇

Had a look on Amazon, scrolled down to what previous customers had viewed or brought … go figure.
