“An estimated 1 to 1.5 million people now say they practise Wicca or Paganism.”""

“Wicca is a form of modern Pagan witchcraft founded in the mid-20th century.”

One priest said “that he did not find it surprising that those who have turned away from God and the Church would instead turn towards pagan worship.”

“‘Man is essentially a religious animal who seeks meaning beyond the ordinary and so is prone to worship powers beyond himself,’ he explained."

“An exorcist explained that while some witches differentiate between ‘white magic’ and 'black magic,'with black magic being intentionally malicious, he rejected the idea there could be any such thing as positive or harmless magic.”

“Both of them are associated with Satan, and he’s in charge of that,” the priest told CNA."

“People who embrace one form of witchcraft, be it for finding love or solving another one of life’s problems may find themselves ‘trapped’ into the world of the occult,’ he said.”

I pray they find their way to freedom from these practices and, baring that, I pray that God will have mercy on their souls.

Witchcraft and satanism are not the same thing. Witches don’t believe in satan

Witches are just edgy weirdos with no actual abilities

It’s like a stupid phase the don’t grow out of

They can’t do anything and watching them say anything is funny with his dumb they are

Let’s not paint with a broad brush or stereotype. There are many kinds of “witches”, understandings of what it is all about and motivations.

How many people call themselves Catholic but haven’t set foot in a church for years and years?

Labeling oneself and actually being that thing aren’t necessarily the same.

They have no powers or ability to do anything

They are like mediums

Weird and living a lie

It’s similar to a kid going through an edgy phase just their entire life

Misguided souls. Let us all pray that they repent their paganism and embrace the way, the truth and the life.

To hopefully avoid some alarmism: Bear in mind that 1 - 1.5 million is at best 0.45% of the population. It’s sad that people are turning to witchcraft, but it’s not really widespread.

Not what the Saints and the Saints and the exorcists have to say about it… but what do they know right?

And there is this:
Anything “by which one attempts to tame occult powers, so as to place them at one’s service and have a supernatural power over others – even if this were for the sake of restoring their health – are gravely contrary to the virtue of religion. These practices are even more to be condemned when accompanied by the intention of harming someone, or when they have recourse to the intervention of demons.” (CCC 2117)

Surely they are bad people but to say the have supernatural powers is impossible

just because they worship demons doesn’t mean they can do anything supernatural
Demons would be the cause not themselves they are just evil humans

What power would they even have?

No one says they have supernatural powers. They can communicate with demons who, being fallen angels, can do things which appear supernatural, but are in fact not.

Exactly

But overall just gender studies drop outs that are angry at religion 😂😂😂

Well you can be a witch and be of any religion it’s a craft not a belief. Wicca is a religion you are right they don’t believe in satan but many witches don’t believe in satan as well
