Report: Satanic Temple in Ottawa plans to hold first black mass in Canada August 17

Correction: this isn’t the first black mass in Ottawa. There’s currently a long continuous one that started when the current Parliament opened in 2015. This black mass may or may not end after October of this year.

Your conclusion does not follow from the facts. “Possible” does not equal “easy”.
 
The article notes that a Black Mass organized in USA (corrected, it was in Oklahoma apparently) had a stolen host that the attorney for the Black Mass promoter was legally compelled to return to the Church as being stolen property.

I somehow doubt that this heavy metal bar is interested in observing the proper protocols for a Black Mass and in having an actual stolen host, etc. More likely it will involve people dressed up as priests waving upside-down crucifixes and yelling Hail you-know-who, some scantily clad women and perhaps some people dressed as demons. It’s entertainment, not a serious religious gathering. Having said that, I still wouldn’t go to it. The devil is not something to play with in that manner.

Even if they are having a “sock drive for homeless shelters” as part of the Black Mass event.

The very sad thing is they are atheists, they don’t know what they are doing. True devil worshiper know at least how serious this is.

Let them have their nonsense. Doesn’t effect me or Christ. Christ and the angels and saints laugh at this stuff. Or cry. But in the end they want to seal their fate, good for them. I personally think Freemasonry or Mormonism is just as blasphemous.
 
The bishop has given an interview. It says among other things that he verified no consecrated host would be used in this Black Mass and he is warning everybody in the diocese to make sure people consume the hosts they are given.

He also is asking for prayers of reparation for this Black Mass. Someone else started a prayer thread in Prayer Intentions for this if you want to post your prayers there.

 
There is Black Magic , Witchcraft & Mediums and much, much worse out there.

Make no mistake.

But we are all warned to put on our Holy Armour against such things. They have know idea what they are messing with.

I’ve seen Witchcraft 1st hand and it isn’t pleasant.

All we can do is ask the Lord to Forgive them for they know what they do.
 
I went the Satanic Temple’s website. It says these are its ‘fundamental tenets’. They are standard Humanist ideas. Nothing about stealing hosts.

One should strive to act with compassion and empathy towards all creatures in accordance with reason.

The struggle for justice is an ongoing and necessary pursuit that should prevail over laws and institutions.

One’s body is inviolable, subject to one’s own will alone.

The freedoms of others should be respected, including the freedom to offend.

To willfully and unjustly encroach upon the freedoms of another is to forgo one’s own.

Beliefs should conform to our best scientific understanding of the world. We should take care never to distort scientific facts to fit our beliefs.

People are fallible. If we make a mistake, we should do our best to rectify it and remediate any harm that may have been caused.

Every tenet is a guiding principle designed to inspire nobility in action and thought.

The spirit of compassion, wisdom, and justice should always prevail over the written or spoken word.

I was wrong to praise your post. That is no way out of disrespectful to you. So please accept my apology.

The Lord isn’t happy with your post trust me. I miss read it and he has explained to me it is indeed challenging his own authority on compassion.
 
I don’t think the bar itself is running the event. Isn’t the Satanic Temple basically there on invite? Why wouldn’t they observe “proper protocol”? And why wouldn’t the bar let the professionals have their way? People are curious, and I’m sure there are perverted people who would be fascinated to observe a Satanic ritual in all its protocol. So I’m not quite buying that.

The bar hosts shows. Booking “the Satanic Temple” is likely the same as booking a band, or any other group running an event that includes music and vendors.
I’m sure the bar is concerned about getting sued or whatever probably more than the Satanic Temple is. He could lose his bar license.
It appears the main special guest for the night is a performance artist who has been involved with a bunch of these “Satanic Mass” events in the past and also was a proponent of the After School Satan program.
As I have said before, Satan is nothing to be played with; however, groups like this one are acting more as provocateurs than actual serious worshippers of Satan.

This whole thing is disturbing. It’s bad enough that there’s folks who attack the Church, let alone Christianity in general; but for these idk how to describe politely people to mock demonic evil as a way to poke fun at society is just going too far.

It’s never a good thing to mess with the devil. It’s bad enough already when he attacks people in his own. But to invite him in is… Wow.

I’m always surprised at how people can be proud of the most harmful things.

I mean, what value do they think they’re adding to the world by this?
 
Take note any Protestant brothers and sisters. The center of their Satanic worship is to mock a consecrated host, not a cracker. They care not to mock or desecrate symbols, they seek the real and authentic Body & Blood of Christ to do evil and filthy things with.

Perhaps, but what realistic danger is there of anything being proven? (Assuming, that they simply claim not to use a consecrated host, as they have done)
 
I don’t have any objections to this. I believe that people should have the right to practice their faith, regardless of how blasphemous it may be.
