I don’t know whether it’s real or not but I do know if it is miraculous that you have not yourself opened up to the possibility of it being miraculous don’t be skeptical immediately even though sometimes skepticism is the best path. Miracles happen if they didn’t you would not exist Humanity’s existence is a miracle. I don’t know one way or another about this I’m not the person to make the judgment on this I would advise you to read about Our Lady of ZeitounIf you enlarge the before and after photos…it looks as tho the lids are shut same as before, but there is something *on top *of the lid–like a shadow or a smudge. There’s something weird going on with the lighting, too.
Wonder if there is someone with a better photo of it–since the priest says it was like this all day.
I’m going to see what the buddy, Archimandrite Malateus Basal, and his friend who took the photo says…
.
“Miracles allowed by God’s Love strengthen our weak faith, but they are not the reason for our faith. Our faith goes deeper than that. We have seen God in the flesh, we have heard Him, we have eaten with Him, and we witnessed His Crucifixion, His Death, His Resurrection and His Ascension to Heaven. The greatest miracle which is far underappreciated occurs in every Divine Liturgy, where bread and wine are transformed to the Body and Blood of Christ. Let us always be mindful of this.”
Casilda, good job in finding this info. It’s Archimandrite Milatios Basal.
Looking in to this further. It’s a little odd to get your friend’s name misspelled. Also Fr. Daoud has a troubled past:

And just last year, the Metropolitan suspended him:
