St Nicholas of Myra Byzantine in New Orleans
While many of the parishioners’ electricity is up and down following Gustav, the church’s electricity is on and the building appears to be in good shape. Liturgy will resume this Sunday.

Our Lady of the Cedars Maronite in Houston
The roof was torn off and the church is severely damaged. No further information right now.

Pokrova Ukrainian in Houston
Trees are all down around the church and debris is floating down the flooded roads. People can’t get in or out of the parish. They’re without power, gas, and Internet but currently have enough water and food in the parish house. Liturgy canceled this weekend.

St. John Chrysostom Byzantine in Houston
The church is without power but currently has gas and water. No further information right now.

St. Basil the Great Byzantine in Irving
The priest who was assigned for Liturgy this week is unable to get there from Houston. A Roman Catholic priest will offer a Typika service on Saturday evening and Third Hour will be prayed Sunday morning.

St. Sophia Ukrainian in The Colony
The parish is fine and Liturgy continues as scheduled Sunday morning.

I was unable to contact the Maronite Churches in Austin or Lewisville, the Ge’ez communities in Houston, Austin or Dallas, or the Indian (Syro-Malankara and Syro-Malabar) communities in Houston.
