Hi,
I suggest you take this time to reflect about everything, your needs and wants and pray to God. Take it as a test to obedience and patience…
Remember, in today’s world, many young people don’t know what they want and easily change their minds. For that reason, many are a little more cautious and prefer entrance in the early 20s. At that age, many people are more clear on what they want or can easily sort things out in a better way…
I am very happy to see a young French girl interested in pursuing a vocation, especially in today’s secular french society. I am also happy to read you are considering the Benedict’s Rule, as this in one of my favorite…just remember to seek a faithful convent or congregation, one faithful to the Pope and Magisterium as many aren’t (sadly
).
Also, don’t let the age thing get on the way as maybe God is calling you to revive convents since many nuns are getting old as you said…only HE knows! Pray to God so He can tell you his Will! .But in the mean time, just wait in Christ as many saints did when they waited for entrance to a convent too. An example is St. Therese of Lisieux, mentioned before here, a young saint from your very own country!
I also recommend you to read the lives of the saints, study the Church’s teaching deeply and get to know many catholic spiritualities. But foremost, don’t forget to love the Church through Jesus Christ!
Ask Him before the Sacrament: Where do you want me? in the Silence, He will tell you…
In Christ
