I just spoke with Alleluia Press. They have already reprinted the old Altar Gospel and are currently speaking with the printer to reprint the Byzantine Daily Worship. This reprint will be a perfect reprint of the original, with no alterations to any of the prayers or offices in the BDW. Due to technological difficulties this reprint could take up to a year before it is available to the public, but it definitely will be reprinted. They just got the funds in order to make this possible. Glory be to Jesus Christ!!

That’s wonderful news!!! For some reason I thought that Alleluia Press was no longer in business. I’m glad to hear that they are. I’d like to get a copy of Kyr Raya’s Altar Gospel and Apostol, as well as the Psalter by Jose de Vinck. I currently have my late mother’s Psalter that I “borrowed” from my dad. Presuming he wants it back I should find my own. Maybe I should give Alleluia Press a call and suggest some revisions for the Psalter to more accurately reflect a Byzantine Psalter (i.e. division into Kathisma and Stasis, etc.).

If/when they finally get the BDW reprinted I’m sure they will make a small fortune selling it. I’ve talked to numerous people, both on and off-line, who would die to get a copy. The Melkite Horologion is as close as is currently in print, but it doesn’t contain any of the Divine Liturgies (Chrysostom, Basil, Presanctified), nor other liturgical services other than Paraklesis and the Akathist to the Mother of God.

Well, I for one am obviously excited. 😃

The man who runs it is the Baron’s son, and from what he said when we talked for a bit he was not at all interested in byzantinizng any of his father’s and Archbishop Raya’s work. Tred lightly :).
