Mijoy2…May I suggest The Lark and the Dragon by Catherine Ho. It’s very small. A young woman’s personal story of her imprisonment during China’s takeover by the communists. In addition to an incredible story of faith, there is much history that many young people are not aware of. You can find it for about $10 at the Cardinal Mindszenty site below. Most are signed by the author.

  1. Madeleine L’Engle wrote a classic series of fantasy starting with A Wrinkle in Time. While these books are meant for a younger audience, I still think that they might be fun “light” reading for a young adult. They carry a very positive, good-vs.-evil message.
I loved these books when I was younger. My husband, who is a big fan of sci-fi/fantasy lit., has never read them. I think I should invest in paperbacks of all the books. I wouldn’t mind re-reading them. 🙂
