Father in heaven, I thank You for all Your promises in the Word of God. I know Your Word holds true, for even heaven and earth will pass away, but Your Words will never. Forever, O Lord, Your Word is settled in Heaven.
Your Word tells me to be very careful about how I live – not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. You say that a lazy person is as bad as someone who destroys things.
Father, I admit that I have been lazy. I am sorry, and I repent of my sins. Please forgive me of my procrastination. You say that if I confess my sins to You, You are faithful and just to forgive me and to cleanse me from every wrong; a broken and contrite heart, O God, You will not despise. Thank You so much for this promise, O Lord! I praise You that I am totally forgiven.
Now, Father, I choose to overcome procrastination. I have made the choice and I will continue to choose to obey You, no matter how hard it may be to overcome it. However, I am weak in myself to overcome it, and I cannot do it on my own.
But thank You so much, Lord, that You said that Your grace is sufficient for me, for Your power is made perfect in weakness. Hence, I confess my dependence on You to help me overcome procrastination.
You said, “I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.” Father, I ask You for Your strength to overcome procrastination in the name of Jesus. Teach me to number my days aright, that I may gain a heart of wisdom.
Give me a new work attitude, a new appetite. Since the day I was in You, I became a new creation. Today, I still am a new creation, for Your Words never change. The old life is gone and a new life has begun. Give me a new joy and desire to see things get done.
Lord, if I ever feel discouraged, please encourage me. I know that I must not get tired of doing good, and I must not get discouraged and give up, for I will reap a harvest of blessing at the appropriate time. You say that those who wait on the Lord will find new strength – they will fly with wings as eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. God, help me to wait upon you, and to continue doing good works. Help me to never get discouraged in choosing not to procrastinate, but to keep on persisting in reaching the goal, forgetting the past and reaching on to what lies ahead. Keep reminding me of my resolution today, even increasing it.
In all these things I am more than a conqueror through him who loved me. I will be strong in You and in the power of Your might, not my own. Hence, Lord, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me! Thanks be unto You, oh Lord, for You give me the victory through my Lord Jesus Christ. I now believe I have overcome in faith. I will think, act and speak as if I have overcome it. Thank you so much for answering my prayer! I praise You once again for Your promises. In Jesus’ most precious and mighty name, Amen!
