God has been so good to me and I am grateful. 19 years ago I had open heart surgery for what they call the “widow-maker” blockage in my heart. I was 48 years old, and mostly asymptomatic except for some tiredness, so my Dr ordered a stress test to rule out heart disease. Well, I had to have a triple bypass and was told I could have dropped dead at any time. A couple of weeks ago I began to have some vague symptoms of jaw tightness and aching in my upper arms–no chest pain. But two days ago I decided to call the Dr. and was told to go to the ER, was admitted and failed a stress test, so I had a heart cath and it was discovered I had a 99% blockage in one of my arteries and had 2 stents placed. Again I was told I could have dropped dead at any time. It appears the Lord is not ready for me yet.

I am extremely grateful to God for this, but I find myself somewhat anxious now because I had a very close call twice in my life, and my cardiac symptoms were so vague, yet I had severe blockages each time. Now I find myself not being at peace about this, wondering how long this stent will last, will I be able to recognize the symptoms if it fails, etc. I was a critical care nurse, so I have seen the bad stuff. Please pray for me that I can be at peace and find complete trust in the Lord in this matter. I usually don’t have this anxiety problem, and I want to live as normal life as possible. Thank you.

Remembering you in my daily prayers, Carolyn. God bless! :console:

Stents can be very effective. I have had six of them for 11or 12 years now.

I will pray for you.

God Bless.

Prayer to St. John of God, Patron of Heart Patients

Dear Saint John of God, after a sinful life, through the power of God’s Word you learned to love your fellow human beings.
Self-sacrificing, you founded the Society of Hospital Brothers.
We ask you to please intercede for all that suffer weakness and diseases of the heart, as well as any other illness.
Teach us to be kind like you.
In Jesus’ name.

Amen.

St. John of God, pray for us!

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Prayer for a Miracle

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from
the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal CB Catholic). You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by
speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into CB Catholic’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

I’m saying prayers for you, Carolyn. For your health and for your peace.

Praying for your health and that God would give you strength and courage.

Remember,
O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that any one who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help or sought thy intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence,
I fly unto thee,
O Virgin of virgins my Mother;
to thee do I come,
before thee I stand,
sinful and sorrowful;
O Mother of thy Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions,
but in thy clemency hear and answer me.
Amen

Hail Mary, full of grace,
The Lord is with Thee;
Blessed art thou among women,
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners,
Now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Our Father,
who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.
