Requesting Prayers for Those With Chronic Illness

Many of us here at CAF have ongoing or chronic medical conditions. Just as we pray for the sick of our parish, I thought it would be nice to have a thread for those here in our CAF family who are sick or who are struggle with chronic illness or ongoing medical issues.

I hope we can pray for each other and be of support to one another. Many of you have prayed for the health of my eyes/vision and I would like to request that you keep the prayers coming. Please also that God will grant me the grace to deal with things whatever the long term outcome be. Let`s also pray for all of the sick and those struggling with health issues here at CAF.

I would like to share a prayer from the book Arise From Darkness by Benedict Groeschel.

*Christ said to His loved ones: “I am with you, fear not, be not anxious.” May I be confident that, in the trials and crosses of my life, You, O Lord, will be my constant companion. Whenever I cannot stand, You will carry me lovingly in Your arms.

May I have no fear of what may happen tomorrow. the same eternal Father who cares for me today will take care of me tomorrow and every day in my life. You, O Lord, will either shield me from suffering or give me strength to bear it patiently. May I be at peace, then, and put aside all useless thoughts, anxieties, and worries. Amen. *

thank you I will pray for all of you and urgently need your prayers for flare up of chronic conditions and much pain to the point of almost crippling.

Good idea! I pray everyday for my CAF friends that God will respond favorably to their petitions in accordance with His will.

Lord Father of Mercy, look upon all these children of your Sacred Heart, I pray You bring healing to them, peace and understanding during their trials.
Jesus I trust in You!!!

Consoler of the Afflicted

O most Holy Virgin, who are fitly called the
Consoler of the Afflicted, obtain for me of Jesus
Christ your Son, the grace never to lose heart in

This is a beautiful thread / idea - and so many beautiful prayers.
On reading Fr. Groeschel’s name - I’ve only seen Fr. Groeschel once but know that he, too, has struggled health-wise, so I’ll pray for my fellow posters and Fr. Groeschel:
