I am a recent convert so I can tell you it is very confusing. To go from a Catholic way of thinking to an Orthodox one, you have to unlearn almost everything and relearn everything new. You will see here the heart of our divide goes into the very essence of how we understand our Christian faith.
This is all very true, and a point that bears repeating.

The best style of learning here really is immersion. I will tell you this - the more you practice the Orthodox faith the more sense it makes. The more sin you embrace the farther from understanding you get.

Make an experiment of it if you like (I don’t guarantee it will totally work) but try living as an Orthodox for a week or more. Do Orthodox Evening Prayer, listen to the music of Orthodox Christian Network (not the contemporary, that’s helpful and beautiful but you’ll hear our hymns on the classical station). Abstain from meat on Wednesday and Friday. Try to act as much as an Orthodox as you can. It might help you glimpse into our world.

If you have specific questions, then treat the Orthodox members here as your parish and ask us.

Edit - I didn’t realize you were Roman Catholic. You may need to weigh whether this is an acceptable practice for a Roman Catholic, or ask a priest

I will say that even though my formal investigation into Orthodoxy took 9 months, and now I’m at the tail end of a 6 month catechumenate, the entire process for me took at least another year on top of that. I slowly gravitated towards the Orthodox way of life as an Eastern Catholic, and part of the reason why I decided to convert is that I realized I have become more Orthodox already. I wouldn’t say I’m there, I’m still in the process (and it may never end) but I just reached a certain point that my thought process has changed and I think and act like an Orthodox. So converting was more of just a formality.

But it did take a lot of time to even just get to that point, and that was just the beginning.

jinc1019,

What helped me get into the Orthodox mindset was Fr. Stephen Freeman’s blog. You can read around it and see how radically different is his approach into the common topics we ask about Christianity. This one article was a starting point for myself, see if this helps you get your head wrapped around this:

Constantine,
Thanks for the suggestion. I will check the blog out and read it carefully. I am very thankful for all of your efforts!
