Tonight I rescued a tiny kitten. It was wet, cold, and raining and my boyfriend and I could hear him meowing. We lured him to us with tuna. I wish I could keep him, but our living situations are not permitting it! My boyfriend volunteers at the SPCA (no-kill shelter) nearby and plans on taking him there in the morning. I’ve cried and prayed about it… I would love to keep him, I’m just heartbroken! Please join me in praying for this rescued kitten as well as any other animals in need tonight. I pray that this little kitten is blessed with the right family to adopt him. Amen.

Thanks friends.

Praying to St. Francis for this kitten’s safety & well being & finds a good home.

Good St. Francis, you loved all of God’s creatures.
To you they were your brothers and sisters.
Help us to follow your example
of treating every living thing with kindness.
St. Francis, Patron Saint of animals,
watch over my pet
and keep my companion safe and healthy.
Amen.

Hi eatpraylove,

Prayers said that everything works out well in this situation for this little kitty.

May God bless both you and your boyfriend for your kindness.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

One of the best cats I ever had came from a situation just like what you describe. I wish you could keep him, but I’ll pray he gets adopted and loved!

Praying for the little kitten and for all abused and abandoned animals. May they all find safe and loving homes.

Hi eatpraylove,

God bless you and your boyfriend for rescuing that kitty! I’m praying to St. Francis that he intercedes for the little furball to find a loving forever home! :gopray2:

I have two cats, females, ages 15 and 10. Both are rescues, one from a shelter and the other from an abandoned litter. I had a third that I rescued from where I work. Someone told me in December of 2010 about a little slip of a gray & white cat that had been hanging around looking for food scraps since that summer. When I finally met her I knew she belonged to someone because she was very friendly. I wanted to take her but was afraid she was diseased; I couldn’t afford a big vet bill or bring her into my home with my two girls if she was sick.

I said a prayer to St. Francis asking for the grace to be able to catch and keep her. I made a vet appointment and set out to get her. She was so emaciated and hungry that she walked right into my carrier to eat the food I placed in it. It was 22 degrees outside; I cranked up the heat in my truck and she slept the whole way to the vet. To my surprise, she was disease free according to her blood and stool work and was not microchipped. I named her Grace, thanked St. Francis and took her home.

The vet estimated her age at between 10-15 years old. Gracie adjusted well with my other two cats after some squabbling over the hierarchy. She was a very sweet cat. I had her for almost a year. She passed away from kidney failure Thanksgiving weekend of 2011. I still miss her but I’m thankful that I was able to make the last year of her life a happy one. She had the most adorable two-part meow…it sounded like ma-cow! :bighanky:

book and bead: Thank you! She was taken in to the SPCA and it turns out she was a female 🙂 Also, she should be up for adoption VERY soon…she was quite adorable and though I was dying to take her, I’m not in the best place myself to have another animal… I also have 2 female cats who are rescues. Thank you again for your prayers and for sharing your cat story!

**God our Father, source of all holiness,
the work of your hands is manifest in your saints,
the beauty of your truth is reflected in their faith.
May we who aspire to have part in their joy
be filled with the Spirit that blessed their lives,
so that having shared their faith on earth
we may also know their peace in your kingdom.
Grant this through Christ our Lord.

Amen. **
