I have to be honest with everyone up front. I am conducting research on the Catholic faith for my college final project. Any information provided to me will be used in my paper. If this is not a welcomed situation please inform me.

I would suggest your research be primarily focused on what the Catholic Church teaches-- from primary sources such as the Catechism Of The Catholic Church.

What sort of research might you be doing that a message board would be a part of? Message boards are full of opinions, not facts.

I would have to second this opinion. You will hear a myriad of things on this board, and not all of them are OFFICIAL Catholic Doctrine. The Catechism of the Catholic Church is the only error free source for that.

That being said, I (and most others here I am sure) will be happy to help in any way that we can.

I second the above, but people here tend to be pretty knowledgeable about stuff and they can often direct you to the kind of authoritative sources you seek–such as the fine poster above has done in reagrds to the Catechism

Yes, by all means, use the Catechism and other actual Catholic sources (Fundamentals of Catholic Dogma by Ludwig Ott, for example).
Specific questions will answered to the best of our ability, if they are seriously and courteously posted.
