Resource Materials (Like in GIA Hymnals)?

In the back of the GIA hymnals, list of indices are included, so you can cross-reference hymns by things such as topic, first lines, poetic meter, seasonal occasion, and so on. So, for example, if a music minister wanted to find a song for advent, they might go to the seasonal index to look for suggestions on what hymns to play a advent.

In non-musical terms, sometimes a concordance can be used to view and compare scriptural passages in a similar manner, usually from Gospel to Gospel. A concordance might be helpful, but I’m not really looking for a concordance.

Alternatively, the NABRE usually has good footnotes (not so much the commentary ones, but the lettered ones at the very bottom of their footnotes), which could serve a similar purpose… but those are a bit limited, and I’m not always sure of how they formed the references between the connections…

I’m looking for something even more robust… I don’t really know what they’re called, but I do know these exist, as I see some inspirational apps/programs, which list helpful scriptural passages to inspire faith for a particular subject… like, for instance, if someone is struggling with grief, temptation, doubt, etc… the "lists (called indexes, above) provide citations identifying help or inspiration for whatever it is they are dealing with… “those kind of things” are what I am seeking… so - again - if it is possible, are there any kind of cross-reference (no pun intended) apps or books anyone knows of to help, I’d greatly appreciate any guidance…

No, I want to do something like enter in a topic - like joy, or advent or even a specific scriptual citation - and then get relevant citations to scripture or commentaries that correlate to it…

That said, it’s not necessarily a musical thing at all, but more of just a way to cross-reference related scriptural passages… The only reason I mentioned the hymnals is because they do this very well… it’s just I don’t have any hymnals (containing these indices) here at home…

It’s called a doctrinal index, I think. I have a Bible of that kind, but it’s not in English. It’s a 13-page index at the back with anything up to a dozen entries on each page, such as Antichrist, Baptism, Faith, and so on, each giving a few words of explanation followed by a list of Bible references.
 
Years ago (I’m talking 1980s), Thomas Nelson Publishers had study Bibles with things like this; one such reference aid was their “Biblical Cyclopedic Index”. That was amazing, and I still hang on to my fully Protestant/Baptist leaning New King James Version just for these resources. I would love to find an RSVCE (or NABRE) equivalent.(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

I just did a search, and they still sell it all over the place.

But, you’re right, it would be great to have a Catholic thing like this…

You just open a passage of scripture, and then click on a verse, and a thing called the “TSK Cross Reference” pulls up related verses… Not sure about the origins of TSK, but the DRB is okay, I think…
