Hello.
I’ve taken an interest in iconography over the past year, and about 6 months ago started painting them. So far I have done 5 of them, but I have been tracing printed icons and then transfering them to wood panels. I’m wanting to learn to better painting techniques (shading, colors, etc.), proper brushes to use, etc.
Are there any good websites for this or recommended books? I don’t know of anyone in my area that is an iconographer that could teach me. I really like the Byzantine style as well as the Arabian and Syriac (Maronite) styles. I plan on taking some drawing and painting classes at my local community college in the fall, so that should help a bit.
Any suggestions would be helpful.
