Is there somewhere on teh Internets where I can find resources for studying random Bible passages?

I’m in a study group and we get assigned x, y, and z passages to read during the week. Once I’ve read a passage I’d like to find out what the various teachers of the Church have said about it over the years.

So my question is: is there somewhere I can plug in, say, “Ephesians 2:1-10” and get back information that says St. Augustine said this, St. Bonaventure said that, and Pope Paul VI said this other thing?

Ephesians 2
1And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

2Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

3Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

4But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

5Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

6And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

7That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9Not of works, lest any man should boast.

10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Go to newadvent.org choose a phrase of interrest like that I bolded. Use the search box there.

newadvent.org/etc/search.htm?safe=active&cx=000299817191393086628%3Aifmbhlr-8x0&q=you+hath+he+quickened%2C+who+were+dead+in+trespasses+and+sins&sa=Search&cof=FORID%3A9#750

And, you will find something like

newadvent.org/fathers/230104.htm

Get the Douay-Rheims Bible with the Haydock Commentary.

Get the Douay-Rheims Bible with the Haydock Commentary.
The 1859 edition of Haydock’s Catholic Bible Commentary on all the New Testament and, at present, on about a third of the Old Testament is available online, here.

You could try www.textweek.com, and then look at ‘index by scripture’.

I’ve no idea what denomination sources it, but it’s a fantastic resource, which includes just about every shade of opinion. I’ve on occassion found traditional Catholics next door to Luther, next door to liberal Protestants. There’s something to be said for being able to access such a broad range of opinions on one piece of scripture in one place.
