This excuse for leaving the conversation has been used twice now for advocates for gay rights. Both of these individuals were the ones who resorted to name-calling. Hmm.Although the level of conversation was great in the beginning it detonated below a level I am willing to engage.
You know full well that my argument with you had nothing to do with making others follow my faith. I went out of my way to stay secular. Using red herrings like this because you don’t know how to defend your position is only going to “detonate” the conversation.Asking if there was a relationship between the negative feelings towards gay marriage is only offensive if it stroke a nerve of true we are unwilling to acknowledge. Forcing other people to follow our faith or be financially or legally disadvantaged if they don’t is an abuse of our majority status in this country.
No, we’ll have gay rights advocates to blame. We will have only ourselves to blame when our religious freedom is taken away.
Kind of works both ways.We cannot be intolerant now and then complain later that people are intolerant towards us because we are the different ones now.
Um … okay? Not sure what this one’s about.Sound like people justifying racism because there is reverse racism. After 100 years of slavery followed by another 100 of civil rights denied followed by a level of racism that did not allow interracial marriages in Alabama until November of 2000, why would those people be mad or suspicious. Enough already don’t you know it has being almost 50 years of civil rights (8 if you consider Alabama) should you not “get over it” already? It is very intolerant of us now to camplaint that they are being intolerant. It is much easier to say it is their falt now. They are the intolerant ones.
More name calling.I am not homophobic
Again, I was making secular arguments. You can’t answer them, so your only defence is to resort to red herrings.I am just willing to deny the protection of the law to a group of people I don’t understand or don’t agree with or believe sinful. It does not matter that these people are having the same functioning society as parents, they live in sin, and although they don’t believe in the same things they need to abide by the same rules.
More name calling. Is this country homophobic? Yes,
This is a bit judgemental, don’t you think.Farwell (not a Catholic, we are better that that, Thanks be to God!) once said
Odd, because it comes off as offensive. My intention was not to be offensive but to offer an insight for reflex ion.
But you do judge. You’ve already cast a stone against the church by threatening to leave. The same Jesus that asked me to not cast the first stone to spare a prostitute we would have no problems sending to prison today. Who explained to me why I should not judge,
Or perhaps original sin had something to do with some of it.Perhaps He create people with great diversity, race, sexual orientation, same health, some mentally disabled to verify our compassion.
Homosexual acts? Definitely. Is homosexuality a sin, probably,
Why are you turnin this into a religious argument? Didn’t you want to keep it secular?but I believe He will come to judge the living and the dead, and I believe He is more qualified to do so.
Actually, it is your call to identify sin and steer others from it. God tells us this in Scripture.I know that all this different people, black, white, gay, strait, sick and health are my brothers and sisters. When judgment day comes and God asks me: I made you perfect and whole, how did you use it to help my sons and daughters? Did you do upon other as you would wish it done on you? Did you forgive the trespasses of others? I will say I try to defend my brothers and sisters.
If I was that gay woman mother of 5 disabled children I would not want to lose my house, or to live without my spouse social security. So I will not use the bible to cause that to happen to her either. She may be sinful, not my call.
I’m sure your canonization process will be swift. While on earth I will defend gay rights, work with prostitutes, and anyone who needs me. I lost count of how many pancake breakfasts I cooked for fundraising.
Wow, quite a rant, and all without answering any of the objections to your earlier posts. On judgement day hope to be able to say: Sir I tryied.
We all tried to steer you to the truth. At least on judgement day, we will be able to say, “Sir, I tried.”
