I have a question, our priest has chosen to use blue as the color for the vestments, altar, etc. for advent, and according to the GIRM, this is not acceptable. I also checked with the “ask an apologist.” My question is, what now? How do I handle this charitably? I’ve never responded to this sort of thing before, as I am not an expert in things liturgical, but I do find this to be very distracting… Thanks for any advice!

You ask the priest humbly and respectfully how the Bishop has responded to this decision by the priest to go counter to the GIRM.

You have the right to contact your Bishop about this.

184. Any Catholic, whether Priest or Deacon or lay member of Christ’s faithful, has the right to lodge a complaint regarding a liturgical abuse to the diocesan Bishop or the competent Ordinary equivalent to him in law, or to the Apostolic See on account of the primacy of the Roman Pontiff.290 It is fitting, however, insofar as possible, that the report or complaint be submitted first to the diocesan Bishop. This is naturally to be done in truth and charity.
