A person who blames other people for their sins or their other failings is sending a message about themselves, that they themselves have not matured enough to accept responsibility. It’s telling that Adam in the garden tried to escape guilt for his sin by blaming his wife Eve for making him do it.I am just frustrated with men who have blamed their wives or women in general for their sins against purity. My sister’s ex boyfriend (Catholic) tried to put the blame on women for why men turn to porn saying that their choice of dress leads men to sin.
I guarantee you that if you go into confession and say, “I sinned, but my wife/ my best friend/ my work colleague/ a girl I passed on the street in a miniskirt/ the actors in a Hollywood movie etc made me do it”, the priest will call bull hockey on you right there. It’s not even worth giving it a thought.
