More terrible new on this terrible day.

May all the victims, the dying, the killed and the hurt today and everyday fly high,

 
I’ve liked my share of his songs and was sad, especially since he had just finished a major tour that he said would be his last major tour as he wanted to spend more time with his granddaughter and less on the road.

Eternal rest grant into Tom Petty, O Lord, along with everyone else who died today, and may perpetual light shine upon them all.
May they all rest in peace.
May all their souls, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Conflicting reports now that he is “near death” 2:07 Pacific time
 
He is brain dead though so only a matter of time if he hasn’t passed already
 
I literally never knew you Tom Petty and your passing will have zero influence on my life. R.I.P though.
( please remeber if you do not like what i have to say, you are free to disagree, just dont hold your breath expecting a response from me, because you will not get one, and this is merely how I feel in regard to this topic nothing more. )

This is really sad news. I respected his contribution to the music scene. I pray he passes peacefully with his loved ones at his side.
 
Just saw something that said the LAPD can’t confirm his death.

They wouldn’t be able to. Since he was found in his Malibu estate, that’s a LA County Sherriff’s matter, as it’s their jurisdiction (Malibu doesn’t have its own police department and contracted with LACSD upon its incorporation).

His daughter is now blasting Rolling Stone for allegedly falsely reporting the death. Another website said CBS jumped the gun claiming an LAPD source and later deleted its posts. I’m now completely confused. Just another example of the unreliability of today’s media.

Last news I’ve seen is also that LAPD wrongly said he had died. Of course he is still in serious condition so prayers much needed.
 
If he pulls though this will be the greatest rock comeback story ever.
