Today’s Intercessions for Vespers begin with:

Because of our sins the Father gave the Lord Jesus up to death, and for our justification he raised him up again. Let us pray:
Have mercy on your people, Lord.

I understand the theology of the atonement in the first clause. My question concerns the second clause, in which our justification is linked to the Resurrection. I understand the theological meaning of justification. Where in Scripture or elsewhere in the teaching of the Church are these two concepts linked explicitly? What is the relationship?
 
Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.
