Resurrection of children as adults?

From what I understand of resurrection, our bodies will be restored to a glorified version of what it was in life.

For all of those who have the gift of dying in old age, does that mean they’re restored as youthful, strong people?

Conversely, for all infants and children who perish will they be restored as older aged teens or young adults?
 
My mother once said we’d all be 33 (healthy, vibrant 33 year olds) because of Jesus’ age. I have no idea where she got this information and I am curious what other people say.
 
I suppose I don’t know how true or valid this is, but my mother always taught me that we will be resurrected as whatever age God saw as perfect for us, regardless of what age we were when we passed.

Now THAT I can get on board with. Well, if He and I are on the same page, as I was at 25. I could run then. I’d want to seriously play.

How 'bout this?? Resurrection of children who were not born?
For some reason of late, I have been dreaming/imagining my child as being a toddler and playing with my mother amongst the animals. He was never born. And I hadn’t thought of this in this way before; it has been many years, sadly.

We lost a child this summer as well. I often think of him as praying for me, but I imagine him being certainly older than 11 weeks. I like your thought of your child being a toddler and playing with your mother. The thought warms my heart up.

I am so sorry for your loss. I am familiar with this too well. And it has been 12 years. And as I typed this, why would they not pray for us? Wow. I never thought of that. A child’s heartfelt prayer. Thank you. Another lovely image for me. And I hope for you as well. Thank you.

Our LORD might have been anywhere from 30 to 39 years old; and this range encompasses the peak of human life.

That allows a bit of leeway in assembling each pneumatikon soma.

And in any case, said soma will not be a standard issue human body. Believe me, your new soma will make your young athletic self seem positively klutzy 🙂

This is perfect, thank you.

I too lost an unborn child, and I suppose I just wanted to know if we’d recognize each other when the time came, God willing. And the children suffering with cancer at such young ages these days, breaks my heart.

Remember, we will be outside of time, so our chronological age and defects have no affect on how we would appear to ourselves or others. To some, we could appear as mere infants, to others we could be 80 year old sages with the flexibility of a ballerina.
 
I don’t think we’d appear as infants to anybody; since we’d have our full limb length, etc.

Nor as elderly, since we’d have young sensuous skin!

Rather, the pneumatikon soma will take an image of what was best in each stage of the human body’s life. We see that in images of our LORD, who combines a man’s heavy shoulders, big hands, etc., with the huge innocent eyes of a child.

I have no doubt that you will recognize each other, and that you will be free of every regret and every possible source of sadness. Looking from the vantage point of Heaven, it seems to me that you will probably not say, “Ah, how I missed you” but “Ah, so it was you, all the time! If only I had known then what I know now!”

Hang in there, even though today’s sorrows are all too real today. Our imaginations are too small to imagine it, but what comes to pass in that time will wipe away every pain from this one.
