I’m looking to do either a retreat (silent or not) or the spiritual exercises for a week in April. Any recommendations for an orthodox location or order? Thanks!

You may want to give a hint about what country you’re in, or what part of the country and how far you’re willing tho travel.

When I think about the Spiritual Exercises, the Jesuits immediately come to mind. They have many retreat houses around. For a silent retreat, you might consider a Benedictine monastery where you could join in the prayers of the monks or nuns but have extended time for private prayer.

Thanks. Located in Midwest but can go anywhere. Don’t just want to google to find a place, would prefer a recommendation.

How about doing an Individually Guided Retreat (IGR) where you talk with a priest/deacon/sister/brother/spiritual director/guide for about 45 minutes per day about what comes up when praying and how do continue praying. These could be done with material taken from the Spiritual Exercises of Ignatius of Loyola. Or do the first week of the Exercises.

I live across the big pond so I can’t give any suggestions on places for retreats. The Spiritual Exercises are the “big thing” for the Jesuits and I can recommend them as well as an IGR. Find a place that has daily Mass and the Sacrament of Confession available.

I would go for a Silent Retreat at any of the Ignatian Retreat Houses

Please go and enjoy the fruits of the Holy Spirit from an Ignatian Silent Retreat! The Spiritual Direction that I have received at those retreats are a gift from God…treasure in heaven. I have heard from others also that the silent retreats are wonderful at the Montserrat Retreat House. God bless!
