Retrouvaille this weekend

Hello, my wife and I will be attending Retrouvaille this weekend. We have two children (13 and 11) and have been married for 18 years, but have basically been roommates for the past 6 or so. We have not had sex in at least four years. This past summer I came to strongly suspect my wife was having an affair, which she has repeatedly denied. It has been the worst year of my life. But we both love each other, she has expressed willingness to go to Retrouvaille and I pray every day that it will be what our marriage needs. I will report back afterward with our experience.

Is it possible that some physical cause is behind you two having a lack of sexual interest? Our bodies go through some challenging changes as we enter middle age. You may consider talking to your primary care giver about it.

My dh and I have been married for over 30 years now. Many things, good and bad, have happened in our marriage. We haven’t relied on our feelings of the moment because those come and go. Rather we recall that we married out of love and vowed to “cherish” one another through thick and thin. Often people get all caught up in their children, their daily lives, earning a living, etc. Romance can get lost. Rekindling romantic love takes patience and time. I hope the Retrouvaille weekend will be the catalyst to do that for you.
