I can’t swim. But I’ve been in the ocean, wading close to shore.

Have you ever swam in a lake?

Nope. So many languages, so little time.

Have you ever visited a petting zoo?

Yes. We went to one yearly when my kids were small.

Pet the sheep 🐑, pet the 🐐 pet the 🐰 pet the 🐄. Ride the 🐴 .

Have you ever gone through a drive through wild safari zoo?

Touched? No. I’ve stumbled across plenty of garter and king snakes, though, along with a couple others. The worst was a full-grown Indian rat snake, which was easily approaching seven feet. It wanted nothing to do with us, though, and quickly slithered away.

Have you ever encountered a wild bear?

No…I wouldn’t know where to begin…

Have you ever been to an MLB season opener?

Yes, but I don’t do it anymore. I found that eating under these circumstances make it harder for me to get back to sleep.

Have you ever sponsored a child in a poor country?

Yes. It wasn’t just me—my whole family was in on it: for his 40th ordination anniversary and in gratitude for his years of service, we had Father’s chalice and paten refurbished.

Have you ever had to run out while preparing a meal to buy a necessary ingredient you thought you had on hand?

My son has a little one. I think I’ve used it.

Have you ever prepared lasagna from scratch?

Not at Mass but at Protestant services before I became a Catholic.

Have you ever spent the night in an Adoration Chapel?

Yes. I go weeks without soda at a time.i don’t miss it.

Have you ever mixed up sugar and salt and put salt on your coffee?
