Bread pudding isn’t a thing in France, where it is seen as an English concoction. But there are a couple of local bakeries that make it to use up their unsold bread, and they sell the resulting pudding so cheap that it doesn’t make sense for me to whip it up at home.

Yes. I find it hard to remain asleep once the sun rises, even if it does so at 4:30am. (I once lived north of the Arctic Circle and barely slept during the month of June [midnight sun, no sunrise or sunset for several weeks] 
)
