In the international (“New World”) style, no. Too heavy for me. Bordeaux-style Merlot, made with grapes harvested earlier in the growing season, appeals to me more. Even then, I prefer blends based on Cabernet Franc—medium-bodied, pairs well with a wide range of foods.

I’ll sometimes have a glass of wine in the afternoon. I’m retired, so why not? I’m a scotch drinker too, but limit that to the evening, usually around 8:00 pm and only if I don’t have to drive anywhere.

Oh, no, not me. I enjoy the varieties of beer in much the same way as someone who appreciates good wine, scotch or bourbon.
Since I only have three to four a week, I’m lucky that there is a liquor store that sells mix and match six packs. I can sample so many types.

Very much so. We have a fire pit on our patio that we use frequently. A nice glass of wine and some music. The people you love. Stars shining brightly. I love it.
