In an act of shameless self-promotion, I am writing to bring to your attention the November 5, 2008 release of my book, Return to Rome: Confessions of an Evangelical Catholic

Published by Brazos Press, you can presently purchase it through the publisher here. For those who want a sneak preview, the publisher has posted a pdf of the book’s first 25 pages here. Return to Rome also can be purchased through amazon.com, though it is currently not in stock.

The book’s website, returntorome.com, can be accessed here.

I’m delighted that Brazos Press will have many copies of the book available at the Baker Publishing Group booth (Brazos is a Baker imprint) at the forthcoming meeting of the Evangelical Theological Society in Providence, Rhode Island (19-21 November)

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
Francis J. Beckwith

Francis,

I definitely plan to read your book! You caused quite a stir when you came back to the Catholic Church. I came back just last month…from evangelicalism also…I went to Dallas Theological Seminary back in the latter '80s. Maybe one day I’ll write one too!

God bless you,

I’m buying two copies (three if I can afford it)!

I’m reading and keeping one, and giving two out as Christmas gifts. What better way to spread our joy in Christ than with a story of one coming home?

And in an act of shameless self-gratification, I shall be buying a copy! 👍

I may even go over the top and read it while enjoying a slice of pumpkin pie topped with whipped cream. 😃

When does the CD version come out? I don’t have much time to read but I can listen to CDs on my 40-minute commute.

Welcome HOME!

Thank you Sir!

(BTW, I suspect that this is more of a selfless act of Christ promotion than you have stated. 👍 )

I hope to read it as well.

Pax Domini sit semper vobiscum.

This is terribly bad but really good: two pieces with whipped cream in between. A pumpkin pie sandwich.

God bless you, Dr. Beckwith. We met at the last UFFL conference at Marquette; I hope to see you again in Minneapolis next year. Regards to Franky as well. Best, cpayne

That depends on what is done with the profits.
If one promotes their cause for profit and it causes struggles in anothers faith then I’d say NOT.
This prayerfully took much soul searching on his part, because encouraging division and struggles in anothers faith is slippery soil.

The audio version will be out in January.

Dr. Payne, so good to hear from you.
