Ask her specifically about wicca.
How does it all work? What does she expect from it? That sort of thing.
I had a friend who went that way, too, and, (this was before I was even catholic mind you) and over an afternoon of baking cookies, she dropped the whole wicca thing like a bad habit.
I just kept asking her ‘So, you say a spell - WHO is listening to it? The goddess? How do you know? How do you know she answers? How do you know she exists? How do you know that the white candle is what she wants, and not the blue one?’
And she would go on about how it’s mother earth and in the end I said something like ‘So, earth, which is BILLIONS of years old, and FAR more complicated than our finite little brains can understand…you can control it…with a crystal? Really? Cuz you can’t even control your dog, who’s peeing on the floor right now’
The problem, too, with Wicca, is that it’s very scattered. Invariably, one person’s Wicca is not another’s. There’s alot of ‘No, no, you’re not doing that right!’ which goes on. Which begs the question - how do you know YOU’RE right, and THEY are wrong?
Also, lots and lots of bad drumming. For Pete’s sake, I don’t know HOW much bad drumming I had to put up with when I was into that nonsense.
Tell your friend not to do it, or else she’ll get pulled into lots and lots of bad drum circles.:tsktsk: :banghead:
