Returning to confession

Okay so I’m back in the Catholic Church after 14 long years. Bout to go to confession for the first time since then and I don’t want to mess it up!! What is the sequence of events in confession again??? Thanks guys!
 
I was also in your position and would just advise you to go to confession and say to the priest how long it’s been and that you need help, and the priest himself will help you through it. Don’t worry about doing it wrong or any such thing. The only thing that God and the Church require is a repentant heart. If you have that, don’t delay and just go and ask the priest to help and he will gladly do so. You could also ask him to go through an examination of conscience to help you remember sins that you may have forgotten.

Do not be anxious or afraid, the Lord wants to grant you His peace as only He can give.

I second this. Priests are more than happy to help you through this and are very happy you want to be there 🙂

Do a good examination of conscience and get it all off of your chest. It is a wonderful experience for a new beginning of your walk with the Lord.

I also use the Laudate app when preparing to go to Confession; it is very helpful in all aspects.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! I’m just so happy for you! It’s 2 years now for me!
