Reunite with the body?

Please forgive my ignorance. I’ve been a cradle Catholic but didn’t really practice our religion correctly and just went through the motions of being a good Catholic. I have a question about the Apostle’s Creed. It states that we believe in reuniting with the body and then life everlasting? I’ve always believed that when we die we are judged and go to heaven, purgatory or hell. There was no reuniting with the body. If I can help it I wouldn’t want to reunite with my body.🙂 Am I getting this wrong?

LOL! We all have our little love handles and things we’d love to leave behind. I’m right there with ya.

As to your question, here’s a few brief answers from the Balitmore Catechism that explain things pretty clearly. If not, I’m sure many here would love to offer clarification.

Don’t worry! It will be our glorified body - our body that in all ways is the true person, as Jesus Christ would have our body be. Not the body that Original Sin, concupiscence (ours or our genetic ancestors) or wounds (emotional or physical) have turned our body.
