I find this passage fascinating, that the four angels standing at the four corners of the earth hold back the four winds. God’s spirit is often associated with moving air - wind, breeze, breathe, spiritus, pheuma…

After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth, that no wind might blow on earth or sea or against any tree. Then I saw another angel ascend from the rising of the sun, with the seal of the living God, and he called with a loud voice to the four angels who had been given power to harm earth and sea, saying, “Do not harm the earth or the sea or the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God upon their foreheads.” (Revelation 7:1-3)

That “no wind might blow” is a sign that God is withdrawing his creating, life giving spirit from earth. To me, this is God putting a stake in the ground - that was your last chance - there will be no more salvation.

But what do you guys make of the sealing of the servants “upon their foreheads?” Have not those who have recieved confirmation, have they not been “sealed with the Holy Spirit?”

Any and all feedback appreciated.

I do believe the saints are all Christians (true) and the sealing sign of guarantee in heaven. If I recall correctly this all happens before the millenium rule, prior to judgment day. I’d love to read the official interpretation of this but that’s what I think from memory

Go on line to Catholic Lighthouse Media and find CDs on this subject. Great stuff, especially Scott Hahn’s CDs.
