Ok, so I’ve got this book “Ancient Christian Commentary on the Scriptures” Revelation Edition, and it gives the Church Father’s interpretation of Revelation, and I’m shocked by how differently they interpret Revelation from the Pre-Trib/Post-Trib goons.

Anyway, I’ve gotten to Chapter 15, and noticed that the only events in their interpretation is the coming of Elijah and Enoch for 3 1/2 years, Satan attacking the Church for 3 1/2 years by the Beast, and the 2nd Coming of Christ.

The problem is, I just noticed, I didn’t grasp if the coming of Elijah and Enoch happens before the coming of the Beast, or at the same time as the coming of the Beast.

So my question is: does the coming of Elijah and Enoch happen before the coming of the Beast, or during the coming of the Beast?

And of course anybody can try to justify their beliefs by twisting Scriptures, so I’d prefer you to support your answer with the Church Father’s opinion. Thanks!

And I think that’s the issue, past what you yourself have furnished up from reading Scripture with the aid of the Church Fathers (well on you for that, by the way 👍 ) we fall into fallible opinion, as the end times is purposely clouded to an extent, as Scripture clearly teaches. The Church Fathers knew what they knew, we presume from Apostolic Teaching, but that is, ultimately, all they knew. Beyond the Church Fathers you start to get into opinion, speculation, and at best might be able to receive a private revelation or hope the Holy Father receives divine inspiration on the matter.

There’s no Catholic teaching on that. We have no idea.

My interpretation of Scripture is that the Antichrist’s reign lasts about 7 years, the last ‘week of years’ in Daniel’s 70 weeks of years (Dan 9:27). Then the one half a week of years (Dan 9:27) is the three and one half years when the two prophets (Enoch and Elijah) preach. The last half of the Antichrist’s reign is the time of greatest suffering for the Church (Rev 11:2-3).
