I’ll have to take your word on that. It’ll be a while before I have to start thinking about having children.
Let me warn you. There are few things harder on a woman than thinking that she may never be able to have children, especially while all her friends are popping them out like hotcakes. :nope:

So God won’t reveal himself if I ask him to, and he won’t reveal himself if I don’t believe in him. I have to wait until I’m at the very worst part of my life where I’m on the brink of an emotional breakdown, and then I’ll base my belief off of this small glimpse I received at a time when I’m not sure I was even thinking straight.
Well, that’s not exactly what I had in mind. My own faith and trust grew over time, step by step. This was not the same faith I’d been given as a child-unless you could say it was the maturation or realization of it-but one I had sought for and even fought for on my own-satan doesn’t like faith. I came to believe over a period of years by seeking truth anywhere I might find it- which ultimately left me with a love for the bible and for God. But a faith which is not excercised has no point and I first did this by bending my knee and petitioning for this need or that. We all have needs or we’d have no need for Jesus and He waits for us to get to the point where we know that fact as well as He does-He didn’t come for the healthy but for the sick. The needs I’m talking about involve, to begin with, the various ways we may have been overcome by sin-the manifestations of the lack of love in us.

This life is a classroom where we’re given the opportunity to learn the tough lessons necessary to get us to the point where we know our need for God, but we can be very obstinate. Poor people and people who are poor in spirit tend to call out to God easier than those who don’t feel the need, due to perhaps a more comfortable life, because God exalts the humble but resists the proud-and pride comes so easy to us and is a way bigger factor in our separation from God than we think.

In any case, in my experience, the high moments-when you know you’ve been touched by God in one way or the other-have been peppered sparsely throughout a lifetime of seeking Him and those times when I’ve sincerely needed to draw nearer to Him for whatever reasons are the times when He’s drawn nearer to me. Unfortunately that kind of sincerity can be rare-I tend to forget my needs easier than I should-or else maybe I’d be in an exalted “place” more often.

I have no way of knowing your approach to God -only He knows our hearts-but I do believe that simple, genuine humility is far rarer and more valuable to Him than any preconceived notion or techniques we may have. Don’t ask for an experience, ask for faith itself, like the father in Mark 9:24. Or if you need humility, pray for that. I can’t believe He won’t answer those kinds of prayers. Preserver!
