Hello,
On Holy Saturday upon entering my pew I genuflected towards the altar (instead of the empty tabernacle) upon doing this my priest was directly behind me on his way up to the altar to arrange some things before Mass…as he passed by he whispered to me “you don’t have to genuflect the Eucharist is not present”. I whispered back, “there is still an altar up there”.
I realize now that perhaps I should have simply bowed towards the altar instead of Genuflecting.
Is one Not to Genuflec when making an act of reverence.
Should I have simply bowed towards the altar.? or should I have not done anything?
