Reverent Masses in Hawaii

While I’ve never seen one of those notorious “Hula Masses” every Mass I’ve been to here since my conversion several years ago has been rather…banal. I’m not looking for perfection here, I’m just sick of Marty Haugen songs! It makes me want to become a priest (despite my utter unworthiness) so I can do the Mass the right way, as prideful as that is.

The best Mass I’ve attended in my life was an indult TLM. Unfortunately, it seems to have been suppressed, as I cannot find any information about it.

Although it seems that there are few Hawaii people here, is there any Islander that’s experienced a great Mass?

well I can’t say, but the Mass as celebrated in your diocese must be appealing to some people, because it is the reason a cousin and his whole family entered the Church a few years ago. They grew up in Honolulu, and when my Navy brother visited they found a Catholic church for him, and went along. They were so impressed by the beauty and meaning of the Mass, that they attended several more times, became active in some parish ministries, and later first my cousin’s wife, then my cousin and the children became Catholic. All because of the Mass at some nameless church in Honolulu.

Can you get the name of the Parish? Maybe that’s what the OP is looking for?
My hubby never even gave a thought to becoming Catholic until I found a really traditional parish.
