I purchased this Version a few months ago. Still trying to warm up to it. Not all that keen on the font color. Could be a shade or two darker. The thing I struggle with is they put the metric system in scripture. Verses using measurements they could convert they did. I am split on this. Its easier to visualize, but it reads funny. Not scripture to me. Thoughts?

Metric? It could have been worse, it could have been Imperial 😉

I know what you mean, looks strange to see it in modern measurements. My preference is to give the original with the conversion where possible in the notes.

I purchased it for Kindle when it was released, so, I control the fonts. Owning and reading many, many translations, I find this one the most “readable”.

Verses using measurements they could convert they did.
Some Bibles go even further. For instance, in Nehemiah 10:32-33, the annual Temple tax is stated as one-third of a shekel. The RNJB leaves that unchanged, but in the Good News Bible, aka Today’s English Version, it appears as “one-eighth of an ounce of silver.”

Like you, I found the conversions offputting at first, but they certainly make for quick and easy reading.
