I need a good reference for Catholic teaching on rewards in heaven according to works. Anyone have anything?

It is not a matter of either/or it is a matter of both/and. when it comes to faith and works. Please read James 2:14-17.

The Catholic Church teaches that without the Merciful Grace of God neither faith nor works are possible.

Our reward in Heaven comes only by accepting the Mercy and Grace of God. He has given us free will to reject Him.

1 Corinthians 3:13-14 - “[E]ach man’s work will become manifest; for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. If the work which any man has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward.”

Colossians 3:23-24 - “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.”

Revelation 22:12 - “Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my reward with me, to repay each one according to his works.”

Matthew 10:41 - “The one who receives a prophet because he is a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward, and the one who receives a righteous person because he is a righteous person will receive a righteous person’s reward.”

Matthew 5:11-12 - “Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven.”

Matthew 5:46 - “If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that?”

CCC 1821 - “In every circumstance, each one of us should hope, with the grace of God, to persevere to the end and to obtain the joy of heaven, as God’s eternal reward for the good works accomplished with the grace of Christ.”

CCC 2550 - “God himself will be virtue’s reward; he gives virtue and has promised to give himself as the best and greatest reward that could exist.”
