They have so-called “expert” doctors trying to pass off starvation as “slipping into a peaceful coma.”

Especially absurd is one doctor’s argument that the real suffering of not being fed is “losing the taste.”

All the commentators continue to employ the term, maddeningly inaccurate though it is, “PERSISTENT VEGETATIVE STATE.”

WRONG.

They pulled up a viewer e-mail speaking about the horrific disaster of someone being dehydrated and the doctor defended this by suggesting “saliva spray” and “petroleum jelly.”

Why not just give water?

Especially outrageous, above everything else, are the obvious facts:
  1. Terri’s bone scan revealed severe head drama indicative of DOMESTIC ABUSE, not a potassium imbalance or a heart attack as was falsely reported. She was HEALTHY and suddenly stopped functioning at age 26. Who else could be responsible for inflicting head trama besides her husband?
  2. Court deposition by Terri’s nurse revealed Michael Schiavo asking “When will the b---- die?” and gloating of his impending riches.
  3. He killed her cats and melted down her wedding rings for himself.
  4. He lives in adultery with another woman.
  5. He has much to gain from her death.
  6. No cameras are allowed to film Terri because people would see she lives.
We have asked this before but the question recurs: What are people not seeing? How is it that judges, vested with powers to keep people alive, consistently make the most DISASTROUSLY WRONG decisions?

God have mercy.

**Terri told what is happening: Terri cried

**Federal representatives served subpoenas on the Hospice house earlier today, citing intent to have Terri Schiavo appear before Congress on March 28, 2005. Judge Greer has ordered that the subpoenas wouldn’t be entertained and that Terri’s feeding tube would be IMMEDIATELY removed.

It is unclear if this has happened yet or not.

Attorney Barbara Weller was with Terri earlier today. She told the media that, during her visit with Terri, she explained to her what was happening. According to Weller, Terri began to cry and could not be quieted. She tried to coach Terri to say “Let me live” but she simply was having too much difficulty.

Congress is reported by local news to still hold be holding hearings on this matter. It is unclear at this stage who will win this tug of war - the United States or a probate judge from Clearwater. All that is known is that an innocent life is in the balance.

I am fasting today - no food - no water - and offering it up for Terri. I have not eaten or drunk anything since 7pm last night.

My point is in sharing a little of what I am feeling. My mouth had begun to dry out. I’ve been having minor headaches for a few hours now (it’s 4pm). I can deal with the hunger but my throut is very parched and really starting to hurt.

Times all of this by 8 days. I can’t believe what they are doing to this woman.

Pray.

God Bless,
Donna

We don’t know all the facts of the story

I don’t know what she said to him about such situations or what she said to her parents

I’m not a doctor and I can’t distinguish between the conflicting expert opinions

But I wouldn’t go accusing the husband of sinister intent

It is a difficult situation that has been through many courts and even Congress

So it seems apparent that it there was foul play it would have been outed by now

He probably legitimately believes that he is making the correct choice

Go to my thread and do some research:nope:

Ya know, the scary thing about them perpetuating this LIE that removal of feeding tube is a painless, peaceful way to let someone go…everybody and their brother is going to be going out and getting living wills demanding no feeding tube.

The day is going to come when they’re laying in that bed in terri’s condition, unable to talk, denied the feeding tube due to their advanced orders, and their going to find out the hard way what a horrible, painful way it is to die.

By then, it’ll be too late for them.

Steve Andersen:
what a horrible thing to wish on someone
She wasn’t wishing it on anyone :nope: But isn’t it strange that you would listen to them and say not to demonize their actions and when she made that comment you say,“what a horrible thing to wish on someone”:banghead: What about Terri?:crying:Evil actions are evil actions and this is EVIL:mad:

I didn’t say anything about Terri

BUT masondoggy said
…and their (sic) going to find out the hard way
two wrongs don’t make a right

Steve Andersen:
what a horrible thing to wish on someone
I’m not wishing that on anybody! I’m predicting that many people are going to suffer due to these lies! Their being duped into believing they won’t suffer if they refuse a feeding tube. They’ll find out the hard way if it ever happens. I’m not saying I hope it happens.

I wouldn’t wish that on anybody, not even Judge Greer or Michael Schiavo!

Masondoggy is not wishing evil to anyone.
He is not threatening anyone.
He is stating the simple truth: If the Michael Schiavos of this world are allowed to have their way, they may someday find them selves as the victim;then it will seem entirely different.

And by the way, even if Michael & Greer escape that fate here on earth, unless they repent of the sin of murder, they will definitely be suffering this fate–forever–in hell.
Those are not threats.
Those are not ill wishes.
They are simply the facts.

I think that perhaps Mr. Schiavos might say the he would prefer death from dehydration over a few weeks than year after year after year of pressure wounds and opportunistic infections and forced feedings and lingering…

But I couldn’t possible comment

Nor would I want to be in either of their shoes

Sorry if I misinterpreted you Masondoggy

NURSE: TERRI SCHIAVO CRIED WHEN TOLD SHE WAS GOING TO DIE

A nurse named Cheryl Ford who serves as spokesperson for Schindlers’ – parents of Terri Schiavo – claimed today that when Schindler attorney Barbara Weller told Terri they were going to remove her feeding tube, “Terri began to cry and tried to say ‘I want to live…’ Attorney Weller said she had a difficult time calming Terri down.”

Can it be true that the Schiavo woman actually tried to speak? There are those who have testified that she has uttered a number of words and phrases through the years and with therapy would be able to speak sentences. These are initial reports to Spirit Daily. But we get it from Weller and a confirmation, through an intermediary, from the Schlindler family; Ford has called for volunteers to surround the hospice.:crying: :banghead: :crying: :banghead: :crying: :banghead:

it is possible but not probable
National Institutes of Health:
PERSISTENT VEGETATIVE STATE

This term is commonly, but incorrectly, referred to as “brain-death.” It can follow a coma.
People in a persistent vegetative state cannot think, speak or respond to commands and are not aware of their surroundings. They may have noncognitive functions and breathing and circulation may remain relatively intact.

They also might move spontaneously and even grimace, cry or laugh. Some people might regain some awareness after being in a persistent vegetative state but others might remain in the state for decades.

Source: National Institutes of Health
I would take the testimony of someone “who serves as spokesperson” for one of the involved parties with a few grains of salt

A woman at my parish church today told me that she heard the reason why Terri had a heart attack and had the brain damage was that Terri was boleamic and her face was found over the toilet throwing up.

Is this a lie Too set up by the news media?

I told this lady that I heard it was violence and came back witht he comment that michael got money and years after the fact now want Terri to die.

Lord, Have Mercy on US All!

I watched Dr Sunjay Gupta on CNN last night. Gupta, if you recall from the CNN coverage of the Bagdad Campaign two years ago, is a neurosurgeon.

Gupta explained that ‘persistent vegetative state’ means that the higher functions are gone but that the brain stem still functions. He also said that to what extent the higher functions are gone, cannot be known. He said that blinking, smiling, and reaction to strong sounds is common among people with pvs. He said that it cannnot be known how much pain results from removing a feeding tube, but that it is common to administer ‘comfort care’ by means of pain medication.

Gupta has not seen Terri and so responded in a cautious, conservative way. I think we should write to CNN and ask them to send in Gupta! What do people think?

By the way there is still a lot of work to be done. We need to do divide up the work among the following:
  1. get the links out to other discussion forums
  2. email EWTN
  3. email local Christian tv and radio stations.
I have posted polls on:
Catholic Community Forums
About Catholics
CCO Canada

Polls are the best because they centralize the links and options for action. The also enroll posters into checking out the links, finding out how easy it is to help, and then actually helping.

Here is an example of a poll which I posted on CCF:

catholic-forum.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2844#post2844

We also need to keep on posting on the Terri Schiavo threads in this forum to keep the topic high up on the first page of the thread list.

Has Anyone else picked up on two questions that the media has not asked yet, at least I have not heard them. If it was her intention to never have a feeding tube, then why did he let one be installed in the first place??? IN the second place, Why did he wait eight years before beginning the fight to remove it??? This man left this tube in for eight years. IN the third place, all he has to do is turn this woman back over to her parents and family and go on with the rest of his life. NO, HE WANTS HER DEAD. Maybe he wanted her dead fifteen years ago and didnt get the job done. Just speculation I know but thoughts. Things just dont add up with this guy.
