Anyway, is that normal for a C.C. to have a different Patron Saint than their name?
Parishes aren’t always named for saints - Blessed Sacrament, Holy Trinity, etc. In those cases, it’s usually a saint who had a devotion to that subject.

Yes but the Catholic Church that I am a member of is named after St Joseph and our patron saint is someone else I think. For the life of me I am drawing a blank right now, my memory sucks sometimes, getting old, haha.

There are 3 statues left of altar: St. Anne, Mary and St. Joseph. I sit usually on left side because there’s space and some people on right side have “favorite” usual seats.

This is how I thought it was supposed to be in every Catholic church/parish

Mary is on the left and a little chapel to her. As our church is consecrated to the Sacred heart this is in the middle and on the right is Joseph and a little chapel dedicated to him. I face straight ahead and genuflect towards the altar which is in the middle. I sit towards the back but in the middle just off the aisle. Our church is quite old and Victorian (1881) but built on early gothic style. I sit in the same place all the time as I have dizziness and need to hold on when I stand up and lean against the pews and I don’t like to forget where I am so it is always the same seat. I like sitting there so I can see the Eucharist but near the back as I am a retired cop and can keep an eye out for trouble, lol though what I could actually do these days who knows, it’s a habit of a lifetime.

An interesting sanctuary is at the Fathers of Mercy chapel in Kentucky. On the high altar they have a statue of the Sacred Heart above the tabernacle. To the right is St. Augustine and to the left is St. Paul - two of the great sinner saints. There are two side altars, Mary on the right as you are facing the sanctuary and Joseph on the left. There is a communion rail. Along the sides are many statues of saints who have a special connection to the fathers. It is a lovely place and I go there often.

On the left is Mary, standing on the earth and on the serpent. On the right is Joseph holding the Christ child. I always sit on the right close to the front since that’s where the ambo is and I can read the lips of whoever is reading/giving the homily.

The NORM is to have Mary of the Left as you face the altar; thus making Her on the Right side of the Priest facing the congregation.
