because her parents have joint custody and 1 she doesent go to church every sunday and she does not like the religion she is looking in with her mom into the mormon religion and wants to say no cause she feels forced , she believes in god and the bible but she has never been able to make any choices about the church herself so can she say no??

Another reason to restore the proper order of the sacraments… very few young children will refuse confirmation. Give them the grace when they are still young and innocent as the Church always intended.

She can say no, but the Mormon church is neither the true Church, nor even Christian. It would be inadvisable, to say the least.

Rights A minor Has For Confirmation Liturgy and Sacraments
She should speak with her Parish Priest about this matter.
And do this as well.

she tried and her dad keeps telling her and the preist she is getting confirmed

the whole thing was to find if she had a choice or not if she does then good cause she has been forced into the belief and does not like it she says her parents are pushing her away from the belief by forcing it on her

The 15 year old needs to request a meeting with the Confirmation Prep instructor and a priest. At that meeting they explain their rejection of Christianity for Mormonism. The priest will not force someone who has become apostate to be Confirmed, in fact, he will prohibit the Sacraments unless/until the teen repents of the apostasy.

This.

If you don’t want to be Confirmed, make sure the right people know it.

so she needs a meeting with the Confirmation Prep Instructor and a priest anyone else?

It is against forum rules for posters to encourage a minor to disobey parents.

This girl needs to sit down with her father, mother, and priest for a discussion.

To give confirmation while being improperly disposed for confirmation (when not in danger of death) means it is illicit. The confirmand must be able to renew the baptismal promises.

Latin Canon law (CIC)
Can. 889 §1. Every baptized person not yet confirmed and only such a person is capable of receiving confirmation.
§2. To receive confirmation licitly outside the danger of death requires that a person who has the use of reason be suitably instructed, properly disposed, and able to renew the baptismal promises.
It is different than the eastern Catholic churches who give Chrismation to infants also.
Eastern Canon law (CCEO)
Can. 695 §1. Chrismation with holy myron must be administered in conjunction with baptism, except in a case of true necessity, in which case, however, it is to be seen that it is administered as soon
as possible.
§2. If the celebration of chrismation with holy myron is not done together with baptism, the minister is obliged to notify the pastor of the place where the baptism was administered.

Yep. Also goes to the root of the problem where people see confirmation in the wrong light. In other words that they are confirming their belief in Catholic teaching, versus God completing their baptism and confirming them in the faith.

Also goes to why Catholics should be very careful about marrying people outside of the Church and who are not well grounded in their faith. Leaving the Church to become Mormon is to not abandon just the Church but to completely leave the practice of Christianity. Always makes me sad when people really can’t see that fact.

They can probably see it. Maybe they don’t believe in Christianity anymore.
