Does the catholic church you attend ring bells at the Consecration?
mine does not.
wondering how prevalent it is…

My parish does not use the bells, but I occasionally attend Mass at a parish that does, and I have to agree the silence is nice. Our current pastor does not use the bells. (I’ve come to appreciate the reverent silence.) In my experience it’s about 50-50 in this area. QoP has bells. St. P’s does not. St E’s does…

It’s all good!!
Our bells did that at last years Vigil. First one bell dropped then another… the poor server. I think I only noticed because my husband came into the Church so we were in the front row.My church does. The sacristan at my church told me that while an altar server was ringing the bells during the Gloria at the Easter Vigil, they just all fell apart. How horrific. They had another set though.
