So I have a question about rings but let me explain my basic situation first.

When hubby and I got married I didn’t have a real wedding ring. He bought a ring off of ebay just so I had something. My skin causes rings that are not gold or silver to tarnish so the ring tarnished. He then got me a silver ring but the stone was cubic zerconia and white sapphires. Now that we have the money hubby bought me a beautiful ring but no band since we can’t afford it right now.

We are going to be having a covaildation soon and its my understanding that part of it is the blessing of the rings.

My question is this:if I buy a wedding band after my covaildation do I have to have the priest bless that as well at a separate time? Also if the exact ring has to be sent in and is replaced with a brand new ring will I have to have that blessed as well? Thank you for listening.

Go ahead and ask your pastor to bless any wedding ring you wear for that purpose, for however long you wear it. Ask him to bless the transitional ring you wear now, and when you get the good one, ask him to bless that. I’m sure he will be glad to do it and it will only take a moment.

Your priest will bless your old ring, your new rings later - priests are generous with blessings!

Have the priest bless the ring you’re wearing now. When you do get the new one, then it will only take a minute or so for the priest to bless that one. 🙂

Thanks so much guys I wasn’t really sure about the whole thing 🙂
